Outback’s porcelain hooded barbecues are a true feat of engineering. In order to be able to produce a porcelain coated, deep draw hood, Outback have used the finest steel, the best porcelain and invested millions of dollars in heavy machinery to stamp out the shape.

Why did we bother? Simple. Porcelain coating ensures that the entire hood is not only rust proof, it can also stand extreme temperatures that are impossible for normal paint to endure. This allows the chef to use all the burners, and all the cooking area with the hood open or closed.

The Spectrum and Hunter are our most popular and longest running products in the Outback range. They feature many design improvements over the years including an improved hood design with an inner layer for heat retention, tool hooks, a solid base shelf, cast iron burners, lava rock and a porcelain enamelled warming rack. Both have folding side shelves and porcelain enamelled cast iron cooking surfaces. Not all barbecues are the same!

As one of the most popular and longest running products in the Outback range, the Hunter gas barbecue has had many improvements over the years. Its side shelves now fold without having to remove any screws, allowing for compact storage. The base shelf is now a solid single piece, better suited for placing items on. The right side shelf has tool hooks to cleanly hold tools.

Under the cooking surface, it has durable cast iron burners, lava rock that vaporises food juice drippings to produce that smoky flavour and a porcelain enamelled cooking grill and griddle. Its swing away warming rack is now porcelain enamelled, making it non-stick and easier to clean.

Spectrum 3 Burner

Like the Hunter model, the Spectrum 3 Burner now features an improved porcelain enamelled roasting hood with an inner layer for improved heat retention and more even cooking.  Its warming rack is porcelain enamelled, making it non stick and easier to clean.

The side shelves of the Spectrum can fold without removing a screw, reducing its storage space. Its base is solid metal and one piece so items can be placed on it and the right side shelf has tool hooks to hang tools cleanly for convenience while cooking.
