New for 2014, the Meteor Stainless Steel features a high intensity infra-red side sear burner to seal steaks with a “char-grilled” effect. Each steak is then placed on the main burners to cook to the required doneness. It also features a storage cabinet with stainless steel doors and a black wheel skirt.
Its cooking surface consists of a porcelain enamelled cast iron grill and griddle. The griddle section allows for cooking of fish, vegetables and frying food that would otherwise fall through the grill, while still picking up the smoky flavour produced by food cooking over the grill section.
A swing away warming rack provides extra cooking space. It is now porcelain enamelled to prevent food sticking and is easier to clean.
A layer of lava rock sits below the grill section, which vaporises the food juice drippings produced during cooking to provide that unique smoky barbecue flavour. Heat is produced by four individually controlled durable cast iron burners.
Its two tier drip tray eliminates the need for sand and is less prone to fat fires. The main drip tray channels grease into the small easy to clean drip tray.
